Le luci e quel po' di colore vengono dai magnifici Polichromos di Faber&Castell, che per me restano il non plus ultra delle matite colorate non acquarellabili.

Keep experimenting with different tools. Here gray pastel paper, ink and coloured pencil (Policromos by Faber&Castell, the best I guess).
